Launch, Administration, and Financial Outlay

The Yuva Nidhi scheme was officially launched in Shivamogga on January 12. It is administered by the Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Department. The program aims to provide financial security and career support to educated youth. A budgetary allocation of ₹650 crore was earmarked to fund the unemployment allowance. Under this initiative, eligible unemployed graduates receive a monthly stipend of ₹3,000. Eligible unemployed diploma holders are entitled to a monthly assistance of ₹1,500. All welfare allowances are transferred directly to Aadhaar-linked accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Eligibility, Duration, and Exclusion Criteria

Entitlement applies to graduates and diploma holders passing out in the 2022-23 academic cycle. Applicants must have completed education and remained jobless for at least six months. Financial aid continues for a maximum period of two years or until the youth secures employment. The monthly allowance automatically ceases as soon as the beneficiary gains a job. Candidates must possess Karnataka domicile and have studied in the state for a minimum of six years. Students who are actively continuing higher education are strictly excluded from the scheme. Beneficiaries must periodically submit self-declarations confirming their ongoing unemployment status. Applications and verification procedures are managed through the Karnataka Seva Sindhu Portal
