History
- The sweet was originally started by the Thakur family.
- The family migrated from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, to Dharwad.
- Ram Ratan Singh Thakur started producing and selling peda locally.
- His grandson Babu Singh Thakur expanded the family business through their Line Bazaar store.
- Hence, it was also locally known as “Line Bazaar Peda.”
